Evaluating which open source license to adopt.


As at 2nd September, the project will be licensed as follows:

  • Server - Dual Licensed GNU GPL / Commercial-Proprietary
  • Client - LGPL
  • Communications package between client/server - LGPL

In lay terms, writing an application with Open CSTA support will enable the developer to use the libraries within a proprietary application on the client side. The server component will not be supported within a commercial product unless a commercial license is granted. There is no warranty with GPL licensed software. In telephony, you have been warned! Voice is precious... and valuable.

The code will be available by the end of 2008. (Getting trac/subversion working - 7/JAN/2009)
